Srinagar is milder, around 10.5°C by day and 0.7°C at night, with snow only in some years. Skiing in February

February is the best month for learners in Gulmarg: deep snow and longer days. IISM Gulmarg runs two 14-day batches in February 2027: 31 January–13 February (Basic 40, Intermediate 10, Advanced 10, Snowboarding 20 seats) and 14–27 February (including the MOI instructor course). Roads, trains and flights in February

• Flights: heavy snow can suspend Srinagar flights for a day, as on 23 January 2026. Fly mid-day and keep the last day free.
• Jammu–Srinagar highway: closes for a day or more after big spells near Banihal.
