When people ask me how much time they really need to "see" Kashmir, my answer is always the same: Seven days.
Anything less feels like a race. Kashmir isn't a destination you want to check off a list; it’s a place you want to feel. A 6-night, 7-day itinerary is the "Goldilocks" of travel plans—it’s just right. It gives you enough time to stay overnight in the meadows of Pahalgam and Gulmarg, rather than just rushing back to Srinagar in a taxi every evening.
In my years of helping travelers plan these routes, I’ve seen that the best memories aren't made at the famous viewpoints, but during the quiet moments: a morning cup of Kahwa on a misty houseboat deck, or a slow walk through a pine forest in Aru Valley.
This is our handcrafted 7-day Kashmir tour package, designed to give you the most authentic, relaxed, and breathtaking experience possible.
The Full Circuit: Covers Srinagar, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.
Overnight Stays: Includes a night in the mountains (Pahalgam) to truly experience the Himalayan silence.
The Houseboat Tradition: A mandatory, magical night on Dal Lake.
Local Expertise: Our drivers aren't just transporters; they are locals who know the best hidden dhaba for a midday snack.
Spring (March–May): For the Tulips and blooming orchards.
Summer (June–August): For the best weather and escaping the plains' heat.
Autumn (Sept–Nov): For the fiery orange Chinar leaves.
Winter (Dec–Feb): For a "Frozen" style wonderland and skiing.
SIM Cards: Only Postpaid SIMs (Jio/Airtel/BSNL) work. If you have a prepaid card, it will go dead the moment you land.
Pony Rides: Negotiate! Rates are usually fixed by the government, but there is always room for a friendly conversation.
The "Local Cab" Rule: In Pahalgam and Gulmarg, your Srinagar-registered vehicle cannot take you for internal sightseeing (like Aru Valley). You must hire a local union taxi. We help coordinate this so you aren't overcharged.
We know there are hundreds of travel agents online. So, why us?
No "Cookie-Cutter" Tours: We customize. Want an extra day in Pahalgam? Done. Want to skip the gardens for a mountain hike? We’ll arrange it.
Handpicked Drivers: Our drivers are experienced in mountain terrain and are known for their punctuality and politeness.
24/7 Ground Support: We are based nearby and have direct contacts with every hotel and houseboat owner on your itinerary. If something goes wrong, we’re a phone call away.
1. Is 7 days too long for a Kashmir trip? Not at all. In fact, most people who book 4 or 5 days tell us they wish they had stayed longer. 7 days allows you to visit Sonamarg and stay overnight in Pahalgam and Gulmarg, which makes the trip feel like a real vacation rather than a car ride.
2. Is it safe for a family with kids or elderly parents? Kashmir is very family-oriented. The walking is manageable, and for areas that are steep, ponies are readily available. The food is generally mild (if you ask), and the locals are incredibly respectful of elders.
3. What should we pack for a 7-day trip? Regardless of the season, pack a light jacket. In winter, heavy woolens and thermals are a must. In summer, cottons are fine for the day, but you’ll need a sweater for the evenings in Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
4. How do I book the Gondola tickets? We recommend booking through the official J&K Cable Car website as soon as your dates are fixed. They sell out fast! If you need help, our team can guide you through the process.
Indian tourists do not need a permit, but a valid Photo ID is mandatory for airport security and hotel check-ins.
Only Postpaid SIM cards (BSNL, Airtel, Jio) work in Jammu & Kashmir. Prepaid cards from other states will not have roaming.
For summer, carry light woolens for evenings. For winter (Dec-Feb), heavy jackets, gloves, and boots are essential.
