6-Day Golden Triangle Itinerary from Delhi
A 6-day Golden Triangle tour is a comfortable option for first-time visitors, giving you enough time to explore Delhi, visit the Taj Mahal in Agra at sunrise and discover Jaipur without rushing between the three cities.
Arrive in Delhi
Our driver meets you at Delhi airport (DEL) and takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to recover from the flight.
Old & New Delhi
Old Delhi by cycle rickshaw: Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid. Then New Delhi: Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate and the government quarter, with a licensed guide.
Delhi → Agra (about 3–4 hrs)
Drive by the Yamuna Expressway. Afternoon at Agra Fort, then Mehtab Bagh across the river to watch the sun set behind the Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal at sunrise → Jaipur
Early visit to the Taj Mahal when the light is soft and the crowds are small. Back for breakfast, then drive to Jaipur, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital.

How much does a Golden Triangle tour cost in US dollars?
Our private Golden Triangle tours start from about US$299 per person for 4 days and US$449 per person for the classic 6 days, based on two people sharing a room. That includes a private air-conditioned car and driver, hotels with breakfast, airport pickup and drop, and local guides at the main monuments. You get an exact quote in USD within 24 hours.
How many days do I need for the Golden Triangle?
Six days (5 nights) is ideal: one day each for Delhi and Jaipur, a night in Agra so you can see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, and time to rest after the long flight. Four days is possible if you are short on time, but the days are longer.
Is the Taj Mahal open every day?
No. The Taj Mahal is closed to visitors on Fridays. It opens about 30 minutes before sunrise and closes about 30 minutes after sunset. We plan your route so your Agra day never falls on a Friday.
What is the Taj Mahal ticket price for foreigners?
At the time of writing, the entry ticket for foreign nationals is INR 1,100, with lower prices for SAARC and BIMSTEC citizens. Prices are set by the Archaeological Survey of India and can change. Monument tickets are not included in our package price, and we can book them for you.
Should we travel between the cities by car or train?
A private car is the most flexible: Delhi to Agra is about 3–4 hours on the Yamuna Expressway, Agra to Jaipur about 4–5 hours with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, and Jaipur to Delhi about 5 hours. For Delhi–Agra you can also take the Gatimaan Express, which takes about 1 hour 40 minutes from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Agra Cantt.
What is the best time for a Golden Triangle tour?
October to March is the best time, with pleasant days and cool nights. April to June is very hot, often above 40°C. July to September is the monsoon: greener and quieter, with some rain.
Do I need a visa for India?
Most visitors do. Around 170 nationalities, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and the EU, can apply online for an e-Tourist Visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in, at least 4 days before arrival. Holders of an OCI card, and citizens of Nepal and Bhutan, need no visa.
Can we add Rishikesh, Kashmir or the Himalayas?
