What does an India tour package from Australia include?
Our packages are land only. The price covers twin-share hotels in a Deluxe category, a private air-conditioned car with an English-speaking driver for every transfer and sightseeing day, breakfast at most hotels, tolls, parking, driver allowances and taxes. International flights, the e-visa, monument entry fees, lunches, dinners and tips are paid separately. We price it this way because most Australians book their own flights, and because foreign-national entry fees change from year to year.
Prices are per person for the off-season bands of 1 November to 19 December and 6 January to 14 March. Christmas and New Year (20 December to 5 January) and the season from 15 March onward run about 25% higher because hotel rates rise. We are a Himachal Pradesh company, registered with HP Tourism (DTO-MND-11-243/2022), with our own cars and drivers in the hills; Kerala, Rajasthan and the Golden Triangle we run with partners we have used for several seasons, and we remain your single point of contact.

The A$ column uses ₹66.75 to the Australian dollar, based on the AUD/INR close of ₹66.76 on 26 October 2026 (Pound Sterling Live, checked 30 October 2026). Your card settles at your bank’s rate on the day.

Which routes suit Australian travellers?
- Golden Triangle (5–7 days): Delhi, Agra and Jaipur by private car. The standard first trip, and the one most two-week itineraries open with. Our 7-day Golden Triangle itinerary shows the shape.
- Kerala (7–10 days): Kochi, Munnar tea country, a houseboat night on the backwaters and a beach at Marari or Kovalam. The one route we recommend for the Australian summer holidays without qualification: dry, warm and green from December to February. Our Kerala itinerary guide compares 5, 7 and 10 days.
- Rajasthan (10–14 days): the Golden Triangle extended to Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur. October to March.
- Himachal and the Himalayas (6–12 days): Shimla, Manali and Dharamshala year-round, Kinnaur and Spiti from June to mid-October, and winter Spiti via Shimla from December to March. This is where we are based.
- Ladakh and Kashmir (7–10 days): June to September, which lines up with the Australian winter school holidays in July.
Three-week trips often combine two regions: the Golden Triangle followed by a flight to Kochi, or Delhi and Amritsar followed by the hills. Our two-week India itinerary and South India itinerary set out combinations that work.
How do you fly from Australia to India?
Air India flies nonstop Sydney–Delhi (about 12 hours 50 minutes) and Melbourne–Delhi (about 12 hours 35 minutes), and Qantas flies Sydney–Bengaluru nonstop (about 11 hours 45 minutes) and a seasonal Melbourne–Delhi service that resumed in late October 2025 (My Tickets to India and Live from a Lounge, checked 30 October 2026). Confirm which are operating for your dates. From Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide, and for Kochi, one-stop routings through Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo or the Gulf are the usual choice and add three to five hours.
Delhi is the gateway for the Golden Triangle, Rajasthan and all Himalayan routes. For a Kerala-only trip, fly into Kochi via Singapore or the Gulf and skip Delhi altogether. Our Delhi airport arrival guide covers immigration, SIM cards, cash and transfers.

When should Australians travel to India?
The Australian summer holidays fall in India’s high season: December and January are dry and mild on the plains (daytime 15–25°C, with morning fog in Delhi and Agra), and warm in Kerala and Goa. Hill stations such as Shimla and Manali have snow from late December, which suits families chasing a white Christmas. The July school holidays are monsoon season almost everywhere except Ladakh, Kashmir, Spiti and the Manali high country, which are at their best then. The April and September–October holidays work well in the north and in the hills. Our best time to visit India guide goes month by month.
Frequently asked questions

Our published land-only packages run from ₹12,499 (about A$187) per person for 6 days in Shimla and Manali to ₹32,500 (about A$487) per person for a Kinnaur–Spiti circuit, at ₹66.75 to the Australian dollar. What is your cancellation policy?

Do Australian citizens need a visa for India?
Yes. Australian passport holders apply online for an e-visa before departure. On fee tables checked on 30 October 2026, the 30-day e-tourist visa is US$25 (US$10 for April–June arrivals), the 1-year is US$40 and the 5-year is US$200, each plus a 3% bank charge. Apply between 120 and 4 days before you fly.
Is Kerala or the Golden Triangle better for the Christmas holidays?
Both work. Kerala is warm (around 30°C), dry and green, with houseboats and beaches, and suits families and couples. The Golden Triangle is cooler, 15–25°C by day with foggy mornings, and is the better choice for forts, palaces and the Taj Mahal. With three weeks, do both: Delhi–Agra–Jaipur first, then fly to Kochi.
