A Shimla Kufri tour package with Suzu Travels is a private-car trip that gives Kufri — the ridge-top at about 2,500 m, 16–20 km above Shimla — a proper morning rather than a rushed photo stop: the Himalayan Nature Park, the horse or yak ride to Mahasu Peak, and in winter the snow slopes that turn white more often than Shimla town. The fixed 3-night Chandigarh–Shimla–Kufri trip is quoted to your dates; the 6-day Shimla–Manali circuit that covers the same Kufri day is from ₹12,499 per person from Chandigarh and ₹14,499 from Delhi (twin sharing, off-season). Hotels, breakfast and dinner, and the car with fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance are included.

Updated: November 2026

Quick answer: Shimla with Kufri (November 2026)

  • Kufri: 16–20 km from Shimla on NH-5 via Dhalli, 30–45 minutes; about 300 m higher than the town, so it gets snow more often.
  • Shortest fixed trip: 3N/4D Chandigarh–Shimla–Kufri, quoted on request for your dates.
  • With Manali: the 5N/6D Shimla–Manali circuit includes the Kufri morning — from ₹12,499 (Chandigarh) or ₹14,499 (Delhi, four sharing the car).
  • Snow window: usually mid-December to February, January the best bet; no natural snow? The indoor Snow Kingdom park at Kufri keeps real snow all year.
  • In Kufri: Himalayan Nature Park, Mahasu Peak by horse or yak, the adventure park; rides are paid locally.

Shimla Kufri tour packages and prices (2026)

Every Shimla trip of ours includes the Kufri morning — this page is for travellers for whom Kufri is the point. Each trip runs in a private car that only your group uses. Prices are per person, twin sharing, deluxe (3-star) hotels, off-season, as printed on each live page today.

Package Days Starts from Kufri in the plan From ₹ per person
Chandigarh Shimla Tour (Shimla + Kufri) 3N/4D Chandigarh Full Kufri morning with the Nature Park On request
Shimla Manali from Chandigarh 5N/6D Chandigarh Kufri morning on Day 2, then Jakhu and the Viceregal Lodge ₹12,499
Shimla Manali from Delhi 5N/6D Delhi Kufri day with Mahasu Peak pony ride optional ₹14,499 (4 sharing the car)

“From” prices are the sample rates printed on each live page on 7 November 2026: per person, twin sharing, off-season. Off-season rates apply 1 July–30 September, 1 November–19 December and 6 January–14 March; peak dates (15 March–30 June, all of October and 20 December–5 January) are priced 25% higher. The ₹14,499 Delhi rate assumes four travellers share the car. “On request” means the page prints no price; we quote it for your dates. You get a written quote before you pay anything.

This page is the Kufri-weighted plan. For everything Shimla — all packages, how to reach, where to stay — start from our Shimla packages hub, and if you are coming from Delhi, the Shimla tour package from Delhi page compares every Delhi option with trains, Volvos and cab fares. A Shimla-only trip from Delhi is customised and quoted, because the drive alone is 7–8 hours each way.

Kufri: what you actually do there

Kufri is a ridge at about 2,500 m — published figures vary between roughly 2,500 and 2,700 m — on NH-5, 16–20 km east of Shimla past Dhalli, 30–45 minutes on a clear road. Three things fill the morning:

Stop What it is Good to know
Himalayan Nature Park High-altitude wildlife including the Himalayan monal (the state bird), snow leopards and brown bears The easy stop with children; entry fees paid at the gate
Mahasu Peak Kufri’s highest point, reached by horse or yak ride, with views towards the Badrinath and Kedarnath ranges on clear days Settle the ride rate and duration before you mount; kids ride with a handler
Adventure park and snow slopes Go-karts, ziplines and rides; sledging, tubing and beginner skiing when there is enough snow All activities paid locally; the indoor Snow Kingdom park keeps real snow all year

We plan Kufri early in the day to beat the weekend jams on the Dhalli road. Rides, park tickets and activity charges are not in any package price — they are paid at Kufri. Full detail in our Kufri adventure activities guide and the Snow Kingdom guide.

How you reach Shimla and Kufri

From How Time
Chandigarh Package car via Pinjore and Solan 3–4 hours
Delhi Package car, or train to Chandigarh/Kalka and start there About 7–8 hours by road
Kalka The Kalka–Shimla toy train, then our car A slow, scenic half day
Shimla to Kufri Package car on NH-5 via Dhalli 16–20 km, 30–45 minutes on a clear road

Chandigarh is the smarter start: only 3–4 hours from Shimla, so a 4-day trip works. From Delhi most travellers take 5–6 days and add Manali — the route options are compared on the Shimla Manali tour by car page. One winter note from the Kufri snow page: on heavy-snow days police stop traffic beyond Dhalli, so the snow you came for can be the reason you cannot reach Kufri that morning — we keep the plan flexible.

Sample itinerary: 4 days with a full Kufri morning

This is the day plan of the Chandigarh Shimla tour (3N/4D) — the shortest fixed trip built around Shimla and Kufri.

Day Plan Night
Day 1 Arrive Chandigarh: Rock Garden, Rose Garden and a boat ride at Sukhna Lake. Chandigarh hotel
Day 2 Drive to Shimla via Pinjore Gardens; check in and evening on Mall Road. Shimla hotel
Day 3 Kufri morning: panoramic mountain views and the Himalayan Nature Park. Afternoon at Jakhoo Temple, the Ridge and Christ Church. Shimla hotel
Day 4 Breakfast and the drive back to Chandigarh; drop at the airport or railway station. —

On the 6-day Shimla–Manali trips the same Kufri morning comes on Day 2, followed by Jakhu Temple and the Viceregal Lodge, before the circuit moves on to Kullu and Solang. Two full days in Shimla covers Mall Road, the Ridge, Jakhu, the Viceregal Lodge and Kufri.

Best time for Shimla and Kufri — and the snow question

Months What to expect
March–June Mild days; busiest in the May–June school holidays. Peak rates from 15 March.
July–September Monsoon rain on hill roads; green and quiet, off-season rates.
October–November Clear skies and long views; November is off-season pricing.
Mid-December–February The snow window, January the best bet. Kufri turns white more often than Shimla town; police can hold traffic beyond Dhalli after heavy falls.

No snow date is ever certain: in 2025–26 the first Kufri snow came only on 23 January 2026, after a three-month dry spell. If snow is the whole point, base in Shimla for three nights with one flexible day and pick the Kufri morning from the forecast — our Kufri snowfall guide has the month-by-month odds, and the indoor Snow Kingdom park is the all-year fallback.

What this means for your trip

If Kufri and Shimla are the whole trip, take the 3N/4D Chandigarh tour and have it quoted for your dates. If you have six days, the Shimla–Manali circuit from ₹12,499 (Chandigarh) or ₹14,499 (Delhi) buys the same Kufri morning plus Kullu and Solang. Winter travellers should keep one flexible day for the snow. For every Shimla trip we run, start from the Shimla hub; for all circuits, the Himachal tour packages page.

Shimla Kufri tour package: frequently asked questions

How much does a Shimla Kufri tour package cost?
The fixed 3N/4D Chandigarh–Shimla–Kufri trip is quoted on request for your dates. The 5N/6D Shimla–Manali circuits that include the same Kufri morning start at ₹12,499 per person from Chandigarh and ₹14,499 from Delhi (twin sharing, off-season, four sharing the car on the Delhi rate).

How far is Kufri from Shimla?
16–20 km on NH-5 via Dhalli, about 30–45 minutes on a clear road. It sits roughly 300 m higher than Shimla, at about 2,500 m, which is why it gets snow more often than the town.

Is one day enough for Kufri?
Yes — a morning covers the Himalayan Nature Park, the Mahasu Peak ride and the adventure park, and the afternoon goes to Jakhu, the Ridge and Christ Church. We plan Kufri early in the day to beat weekend jams.

Will we see snow in Kufri?
Most likely between mid-December and February, with January the best bet, but no date is certain — in 2025–26 the first snow came only on 23 January. The indoor Snow Kingdom park at Kufri keeps real snow all year if the slopes are bare.

What is there for children in Kufri?
The Himalayan Nature Park (monal, snow leopards, brown bears), pony and yak rides with a handler, the adventure park’s rides, and sledging or tubing in snow season. Rides and tickets are paid locally.

Is a Shimla Kufri trip better from Delhi or Chandigarh?
Chandigarh: it is only 3–4 hours from Shimla, so a 4-day trip works. From Delhi the drive is 7–8 hours each way, which is why most Delhi travellers take 5–6 days and include Manali, or take a train to Chandigarh and start there.

Are Kufri rides included in the package?
No. Pony, yak and adventure-park rides, Nature Park entry and snow activities are paid at Kufri. The package covers hotels, breakfast and dinner, and the private car with fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance.

Can heavy snow stop us reaching Kufri?
Yes — on heavy-snow days police stop traffic beyond Dhalli until the road is cleared. That is why our winter plans keep a flexible day, so the Kufri morning can move with the weather.
