Kufri adventure activities at a glance
Kufri is 16–20 km from Shimla on NH-5, about 30–45 minutes by road, and makes an easy half-day trip. The adventure park (Kufri Fun World) has go-karts, ziplines and rides; horses and yaks climb to Mahasu Peak; the Himalayan Nature Park suits kids. From December to February, snow brings sledging, tubing and beginner skiing — but heavy snow can block the highway.

What we check on every Kufri day
Suzu Travels is an HP Tourism registered travel agent (Reg. No. DTO-MND-11-243/2022). In Kufri, we stick to these:
- Registered operatorsZipline, ATV and skiing fall under the HP Miscellaneous Adventure Activities Rules (registration and insurance) — we arrange them only with registered local operators.
- Horse and yak ridesAgree the rate and route before mounting; kids ride with a handler.
- Rules may changeKufri’s horse numbers are capped by the NGT (Oct 2025: about 293 horses and 2,232 visitors a day), so rides can run out on peak days — go early.
- Snow drivingA hill driver and an SUV or 4×4 with chains; leave early, return before dark.
- Ignore toutsIf someone says “your vehicle can’t go further”, check with the police or your driver.
- Dress warmLayers, gloves and waterproof shoes; snow boots are on rent in winter.

Kufri adventure park and activities — questions
What is the adventure park in Kufri?
It usually means Kufri Fun World, a privately run amusement park with go-karts, a zipline, a giant wheel and rides. Other operators around Kufri run horse and yak rides, ATVs and, in winter, skiing and sledging.
How far is Kufri from Shimla?
About 16–20 km on NH-5 (Hindustan–Tibet Road), 30–45 minutes by car in normal traffic. Weekend and snow-day jams can double that.
When does Kufri get snow?
Usually between December and February. Kufri sits 400–500 m higher than Shimla, so it snows more often, but no date is ever guaranteed. See our Himachal snowfall guide for winter 2026-27.
How long is the horse ride to Mahasu Peak?
About 30–45 minutes up through pine forest. Settle the rate and route before you start.
Can we ski in Kufri?
Only on good-snow days, on beginner slopes, from December to February. For proper ski courses Narkanda and Solang are better; see snow activities in Manali.
Is the road to Kufri open in winter?
Yes, but heavy snow can block NH-5 at Kufri, Fagu and Narkanda for hours (as on 27 January 2026). Travel with a hill driver and a 4×4 on snow days.
How much time do we need in Kufri?
Half a day covers the park, a Mahasu ride and a viewpoint stop; add 1.5–2 hours for the Nature Park.
What does a Kufri day cost?
It depends on the cab, group size, rides, horse rides and dates. Send your plan on WhatsApp and get today’s rate in minutes — Get Quote.
