It is the only non-stop on the route, so book it early. By train there is no daily service to Chandigarh: the Jhelum Express goes daily to New Delhi in about 28 hours, and the Yesvantpur–Chandigarh Sampark Kranti runs twice a week. How do you get from Pune to Manali?

Pune has no direct link to Manali by any mode. You get to Chandigarh or Delhi first, then go by road; Manali has no railway, and the nearest airport, Kullu, has no flights from Pune or Delhi this winter. Pune’s advantage is one very early non-stop flight to Chandigarh, which turns the trip into a single long travel day.

Which trains run from Pune towards Manali?

Pune’s northbound trains mostly run via Kalyan or Vasai and then up the western line to Delhi. These are the practical ones for a Manali trip, as listed on 5 November 2026; check current timings on IRCTC.

The Goa Express is the neatest rail plan: it leaves Pune before dawn and reaches Hazrat Nizamuddin at 06:25, so you can cross to New Delhi station for the 07:40 Kalka Shatabdi to Chandigarh (arriving 10:59) and be in Manali the same evening. Leave yourself a buffer in December and January, when fog in the north delays trains for hours. The Jhelum Express arrives in Delhi late at night, so sleep in Delhi and continue next morning.

Can you fly from Pune to Manali?

Only to Chandigarh. IndiGo 6E242 leaves Pune at 04:15 and lands in Chandigarh at 06:30 (schedule for 20 November 2026). It is the only non-stop: every other Pune–Chandigarh option changes planes in Delhi, Ahmedabad or Jaipur and takes 4 h 30 min or more. Landing at 06:30 is ideal for Manali, because you can be on the road by 7:30 and arrive before dark even in December.

What is the best plan for a Manali trip from Pune?

Book 6E242 to Chandigarh, have a car waiting at the airport, and drive straight to Manali. Spend five nights in Manali (our 4N/5D package plus one spare night, priced on request) and drive back on the last day for an evening flight, or a connection via Delhi. The whole trip fits in six days.
