Does it snow in Kullu? Where to find it
Because Kullu lies on the valley floor, snow falls in town only in some years and rarely settles — even January nights average above freezing. The peaks around the valley stay white from December to February.
Manali and Solang (40–55 km): the most reliable snow in the valley — Snowfall in Manali.
Bijli Mahadev (~2,460 m): directly above Kullu; snow makes the winter trek hard — Bijli Mahadev trek.
Jalori Pass (~3,120 m): towards Banjar and Jibhi; often closed by heavy snow in winter. Nearby: Jibhi.
Atal Tunnel–Sissu: the surest snow, but the road depends on the weather. Latest conditions: snow tracker.

Kullu in the monsoon: watch the roads
In July and August the Beas runs high and landslides between Mandi and Kullu sometimes close the Kiratpur–Manali highway for hours. Rafting is usually suspended, and a spare day in the plan is wise.
Bhuntar takes small aircraft and weather cancellations are common — see Kullu–Manali airport.
