Does it snow in Kasauli?
Sometimes. Snow falls in Kasauli only in some winters — most often in early January — and usually melts within a day or two. It is never something to plan a trip on.
For snow you can count on, go higher: Chail (~2,250 m) in Solan district gets it more often, and Shimla, Kufri and Narkanda are the surest bets within a few hours. Full history and odds: Kasauli snowfall, Shimla snowfall and our live snow tracker.

Kasauli in the monsoon: rain and fog
July and August are the wettest months, and cloud often sits on the ridge, cutting visibility to a few metres. The Parwanoo–Dharampur–Kasauli road is narrow and slippery in the rain; drive slowly and in daylight.
Landslides on the Chandigarh–Shimla highway near Parwanoo can slow traffic in heavy rain, so keep some slack in weekend plans.
