Himachal Tour Package 5 Nights 6 Days
Five nights and six days is the classic length for a Himachal trip. It is long enough to cover two hill stations properly without the whole trip becoming a drive, and short enough to fit inside one week of leave. Suzu Travels runs five different 5N/6D itineraries in Himachal, and they are not variations of one trip: they start from four different cities and go to four different parts of the state. This page puts them side by side so you can pick the right one first and then ask us for dates.
Quick answer: first-timers flying or training into Delhi usually want the Shimla Manali trip from Delhi. If you can reach Chandigarh, the same Shimla and Manali circuit from Chandigarh costs less per person because the vehicle runs a shorter distance. For quieter hills pick Dharamshala and Dalhousie; for high-altitude country pick Kinnaur from Shimla or, in summer only, the Spiti short circuit from Manali.

What “off-season” and “peak” actually mean, by date
Himachal rates are usually quoted as “peak” or “off-season” with no dates attached. Here are the exact windows we price by:
- Off-season (the rates shown above): 1 July – 30 September, 1 November – 19 December, and 6 January – 14 March.
- Peak season (off-season rate + 25%): 15 March – 30 June, the whole of October, and 20 December – 5 January.
The Spiti short circuit is the exception: it only runs while the high passes on the route are open, which in practice means summer and early autumn, so it has no winter departures at all. For Kinnaur, the package itself recommends April to June for weather and September to October for the apple harvest.
How to choose between them
1. Start with where you can reach
The single biggest factor in the per-person price is not the hotel, it is how far the vehicle has to drive. The Delhi and Chandigarh versions of the Shimla–Manali trip cover the same hill stations; the Delhi version costs more because the car spends an extra long day on the plains at each end, and that vehicle cost is split between fewer people when only two are travelling. If you can take a train or flight into Chandigarh, you save that difference and a day of highway driving. The Kinnaur trip starts in Shimla and the Spiti trip starts in Manali, so for both you plan your own way up to the start point — tell us where you are coming from and we will add a transfer to the quote.
2. Then decide what kind of mountains you want
- Classic hill stations, first visit, family with elders: Shimla and Manali. Mall Roads, Kufri, Hadimba Temple, Solang Valley and the Atal Tunnel side of Manali. Easy on everyone.
- Slower, greener, less crowded: Dharamshala and Dalhousie. McLeodganj and the Dalai Lama temple, the HPCA stadium, the Khajjiar meadow and colonial Dalhousie. The pace is gentle — the itinerary spends two nights in Dharamshala and three around Dalhousie.
- High valleys and apple country: Kinnaur. Sarahan’s Bhimkali temple, the Sangla valley, Chitkul village and Kalpa facing the Kinner Kailash range. Roads are adventurous; the hotels are boutique rather than big-brand.
- Cold desert, for the fit and the curious: Spiti via Manali, including Kaza and Chandratal lake. Stays are what the route allows — standard hotels and tents — and it can be done on motorbikes or in a Tempo Traveller.
3. Only then pick the hotel grade
On the three hotel circuits (both Shimla–Manali trips and Dharamshala–Dalhousie) you can move up from Deluxe to Super Deluxe or Luxury, and each package page shows the rate for every tier. On Kinnaur and Spiti there is no real ladder of hotel grades, so we quote upgrades only where a better property genuinely exists on your dates.
What is included on all five
The four road trips — both Shimla–Manali versions, Dharamshala–Dalhousie and Kinnaur — are private: your own vehicle and driver for the whole route, breakfast and dinner every day, and tolls, parking and driver allowances included. The Spiti short circuit works differently because of the terrain: you travel in a Tempo Traveller or on Royal Enfield motorbikes with an experienced trip lead and mechanic support, breakfast and dinner are included, fuel is included on the Tempo Traveller option, and Inner Line Permits are arranged for everyone. On all five, airfare or train tickets to the start point, lunches and monument or activity tickets are not included. Each package page lists its exact inclusions and exclusions.

Frequently asked questions
Is 5 nights enough for Shimla and Manali?
Yes, for a first visit. Our itinerary gives Shimla two nights and Manali three, with a full sightseeing day in each (Kufri in Shimla; Solang Valley, Hadimba Temple and Old Manali in Manali), plus the drives in and out. If you also want Kasol, Jibhi or Dharamshala, look at the 8-night trips instead of squeezing them in.
Why is the trip from Delhi more expensive than from Chandigarh?
The hotels and sightseeing are the same; the difference is the vehicle driving the extra distance from Delhi and back. The Delhi rate shown assumes four people sharing the car. A couple starting from Delhi carries that same vehicle cost between two, so we quote their per-person rate on request.
Which 5-night Himachal trip is best in winter?
Shimla–Manali and Dharamshala–Dalhousie both run in winter, and the off-season windows in November, December and from 6 January to 14 March are the cheapest time to go. The Spiti short circuit does not run in winter. For a winter Spiti trip see the winter Spiti package, which is a different route.
Are these rates guaranteed?
No. They are sample per-person rates at off-season, twin sharing, Deluxe where a hotel grade applies. The final rate depends on your dates, group size and hotel choice, and we confirm availability before quoting. There are no hidden fees added after you approve the quote.
Can you change the start city or add a night?
Yes on the four private road trips — the start point, the number of nights in each place and the hotel grade can all be changed. The Spiti short circuit is tied to its Manali start and to the passes being open, so ask us what is possible on your dates. Send the change with your dates and we will re-quote it.
