Where groups take our Tempo Traveller 17-seater
Where groups of 13–17 take the 17-seater most from Delhi NCR and Chandigarh, and what each trip needs.
- Haridwar · RishikeshAbout 220–240 km from Delhi, 5–6 hours: the most booked 17-seater trip — family pujas, Ganga aarti and office rafting weekends. The van parks at the nearest lot and the group walks to Har Ki Pauri.
- Agra · Mathura–VrindavanThe Yamuna Expressway makes Agra (about 230 km) or Vrindavan a same-day round trip from Delhi — easy on a big group because nobody changes vehicles.
- Shimla · KufriAbout 345 km and 7–8 hours from Delhi via Chandigarh and Kalka, or 115 km from the Tricity. The van stops at the nearest road point; the Mall and Ridge are closed to vehicles.
- ManaliAbout 540 km from Delhi (11–13 hours) or 290 km from Chandigarh on the Kiratpur–Nerchowk four-lane through Mandi. Leave by 5–6 am; for Delhi groups a night halt makes it easier.
- Char DhamTen to twelve days from Haridwar or Rishikesh. A 17-seater suits a joint-family yatra; we confirm road conditions and registration before the trip.
- Katra (Vaishno Devi)About 640 km on the NH44 via Pathankot and Jammu — most groups break the drive at Amritsar or Pathankot.

Good to know before you book
17-seater, 12-seater or Urbania?
The 17-seater costs only a little more per km than the 12-seater (₹30 vs ₹26 on round trips), so for 11–15 people with suitcases it is usually the better buy. Choose the Force Urbania if elders or wedding guests want a quieter, car-like ride.
How many people really fit
There are 17 passenger seats plus the driver. With full-size suitcases it is comfortable for 14–15 adults; for 16–17 adults pack soft bags for the roof carrier, or add a car for the luggage.
A long van on hill roads
The 17-seater is built on the long-wheelbase Traveller. It runs the main highways to Shimla, Manali, Mussoorie, Dharamshala and the Char Dham road-heads, but tight hotel lanes (Shimla’s core, McLeodganj, Mussoorie’s upper roads) need a short walk or a local cab.
State taxes for a 17-seater
Vehicles above 12 seats pay a higher seat-based tax at the Himachal barrier than small cars, and Uttarakhand, Punjab, UP and J&K charge their own. All at actuals, listed in your quote. Details: Himachal entry tax & permits 2026.
Manali local sightseeing
The Traveller takes you to Manali and back, but Solang, the Atal Tunnel–Sissu side and Rohtang are done in Manali’s locally registered union taxis. Rohtang needs an online permit and is closed on Tuesdays — we book those local cabs with your trip.
No night driving in the hills
For safety our drivers do not run hill sections late at night. Leave early (5–6 am from Delhi) and plan to reach before dark; the quote tells you the best start time.

Questions travellers ask
What is the 17 seater Tempo Traveller rent per km?
About ₹30 per km for round trips and multi-day tours, with a 250 km daily minimum and ₹500 a night driver allowance. Tolls, parking and state taxes are extra at actuals. One-way drops are priced separately because the van returns empty.
What is the 17 seater Tempo Traveller rent per day?
On a tour a day works out to about ₹7,500 (250 km × ₹30) plus the driver’s night allowance — for example a 6-day Delhi–Shimla–Manali circuit of about 1,200 km starts around ₹47,499. Local use inside Delhi NCR or the Tricity (weddings, airport runs) is quoted on WhatsApp.
How much is a 17 seater Tempo Traveller from Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh?
One-way Delhi to Haridwar starts around ₹9,799 and Delhi to Rishikesh around ₹10,699. A 2-day Delhi–Haridwar–Rishikesh round trip starts around ₹15,499 including the driver allowance.
How much is a 17 seater Tempo Traveller from Delhi to Shimla or Manali?
One-way Delhi to Shimla starts around ₹17,999 and Delhi to Manali around ₹23,899. From Chandigarh, Shimla starts around ₹8,499 and Manali around ₹14,399.
What is the seating arrangement in a 17 seater Tempo Traveller?
Usually rows of pushback seats with an aisle (two seats on one side, one on the other) and a full-width last row, plus the driver’s cabin up front. Layouts differ by van, so we send the seat plan and photos of your vehicle on WhatsApp before you pay.
How much luggage fits in a 17 seater?
Roughly one medium suitcase per person on the roof carrier (a tarpaulin is included for rain) plus small bags inside. Soft bags fit the carrier better than hard suitcases.
Is a 17 seater Tempo Traveller available from Chandigarh?
Yes — pickup anywhere in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula or Zirakpur, the railway station, ISBT-43 or IXC airport. One-way Chandigarh to Shimla starts around ₹8,499 and Chandigarh to Manali around ₹14,399.
Do you also have 20 or 26 seater vehicles?
Yes, on request. 20-seat Travellers and the 26-seat AC mini coach depend on the date, so they are quoted on WhatsApp; for 18–24 people two vehicles are often cheaper and easier on hill roads.
