How your Patalsu trek works
-
Day 0 — reach Manali
Check in to your hotel, gear check and a briefing with the trek team. One night at about 2,000 m helps you acclimatise.
-
Day 1 — Solang to Shagadugh
Short drive to Solang (about 2,500 m, 13 km from Manali), then a steep walk up through pine forest to the Shagadugh clearing (about 2,950 m).
-
Day 2 — to the summit camp
Climb to the camp near the tree line (about 3,300 m) and take a short acclimatisation walk in the afternoon.
-
Day 3 — summit day
Early start for the top (about 4,200 m+), 360° views of Hanuman Tibba, Seven Sisters and Indrasan, then down to Shagadugh or Solang.
-
Day 4 — back to Manali
Walk down to Solang and drive back to your Manali hotel.
-
Optional extra day
Add Solang activities or an Atal Tunnel–Sissu day trip the next morning.
Forest first, then the ridge
The first day is a steady climb through pine and deodar forest. Above the summit camp the trees end and the ridge opens up to the snow peaks of the Solang and Kullu valleys.
The trek team sets up camp and cooks; you carry a day pack. Pack a warm layer and rain shell, shoes with good grip and about 2 litres of water — there is none at Shagadugh.
