Where is Junga?
Junga is a village in Shimla district, about 22–25 km from Shimla town — roughly an hour by cab from the Mall area. Its ridge-top take-off was notified for paragliding in February 2021, which makes it the closest legal place to fly near Shimla. Most guests fly in the morning and spend the afternoon at Kufri or back on Mall Road.

Yes — at Junga, about 22–25 km from Shimla town. It is Shimla district’s notified paragliding site; there is no flying from the Mall itself.
How long is the flight?
About 10 minutes, depending on the wind. With the drive, briefing and ride up, keep half a day.
What is the best time?
March–June and October–December. Flying is closed from 15 July to 15 September; in winter only clear, calm days fly.
Is there an age or weight limit?
HP rules allow passengers of 12+ years and 30 kg+. The operator sets the upper weight, so share each flyer’s weight when you ask for a quote.
Do I need experience?
No. It is a tandem flight — the registered pilot flies; you run a few steps at take-off and sit back.
