Union taxis inside town
Sightseeing points around Nainital town are served by the local taxi union, so a car that brings you up from Kathgodam or Delhi cannot do the in-town tour. We book the union car for you on the same chat. Trips out of town — the lakes, Kainchi Dham, Mukteshwar, Ranikhet, Almora — run in your own booked car.
Mall Road and parking
In the busy months the district restricts cars on the Mall Road in the evening, and parking on the Mall is limited. Tell us your hotel — the driver drops you at the closest allowed point and parks at the Flats in Mallital, Tallital or your hotel’s own parking.
Two small fees at the barrier
Out-of-state cars pay Uttarakhand’s green cess (₹80 for light vehicles since 15 February 2026) when they enter the state, and every car pays Nainital’s town entry fee at the Barapathar or Tallital barrier. Both are added to your quote at actuals.
Kainchi Dham crowd days
Around the 15 June foundation day and on long weekends, private cars stop at parking in Bhowali or Bhimtal and visitors take the shuttle to the ashram. Go early in the morning; we check the traffic plan the day before.
Daylight on hill roads
For safety our drivers avoid hill driving late at night. Book the Kathgodam pickup for a daytime train, and leave Nainital by 6–7 am for Delhi so the descent is done in the morning.
One car for the Kumaon loop
Nainital → Kainchi Dham → Almora → Kausani → Ranikhet → back to Kathgodam is cheaper as one per-km tour than as separate drops. Ask for both prices and pick the better one.
