Road tips for Delhi to Kasol
No night driving in the hills
For safety our drivers do not run hill sections late at night. Leave early (5–6 am from Delhi) and plan to reach before dark; the quote tells you the best start time.
Himachal entry fee
Cars registered outside Himachal pay an entry fee at the state barrier (₹100 a day for passenger vehicles up to 12 seats in 2026–27; commercial and larger vehicles pay more). It is added to your quote at actuals. Details: Himachal entry tax & permits 2026.
The Parvati valley road
The 30 km from Bhuntar to Kasol is a narrow single carriageway with blind bends and local buses. A sedan manages it well; for big luggage or a group of 6–7, pick an Ertiga or Innova Crysta. Beyond Manikaran the road to Barshaini is rougher and slower.
Kullu Dussehra and holiday weekends
During Kullu Dussehra week in October, and on Christmas–New Year and long weekends, the Bhuntar–Kullu stretch and Kasol market jam badly. Start earlier and expect an extra hour or two; see our Kullu Dussehra 2026 guide.
Kasol and Manali in one trip
Kasol to Manali is about 80 km and 3 hours, because you drive back down to Bhuntar first. Give Kasol two nights of its own, then go on to Manali — ask for one round-trip quote for the whole loop.
Monsoon caution
Mid-July to August brings landslides on hill highways. We watch road advisories and move your start time or route when needed — no extra charge for a route change we suggest.

Questions travellers ask
How much is a taxi from Delhi to Kasol?
One-way fares start around ₹6,799 for a hatchback, ₹7,799 for a sedan, ₹9,899 for an Ertiga, ₹11,499 for a Kia Carens and ₹13,599 for an Innova Crysta. A 12-seater Tempo Traveller starts around ₹26,599. Tolls, parking and the Himachal entry fee are extra at actuals; peak dates cost more.
How long does Delhi to Kasol take by car?
About 11–12 hours for roughly 520 km, with breakfast and lunch stops. The last 30 km from Bhuntar is slow hill road, so leaving Delhi by 5 am gets you to Kasol before dark.
What is the route from Delhi to Kasol by road?
NH44 from Delhi to Ambala and Kharar, then the Kiratpur–Nerchowk four-lane past Bilaspur and Sundernagar to Mandi, along the Beas through Pandoh and the Aut tunnel to Bhuntar, and finally up the Parvati valley road via Jari to Kasol.
Is a taxi better than the Volvo bus to Kasol?
The overnight Volvo is the cheapest seat, but many buses stop at Bhuntar and you finish in a local bus or shared taxi. A taxi makes sense for families, groups of 3–4 sharing the fare, heavy luggage or a daytime drive with stops.
Can the taxi drop us at Manikaran or Barshaini?
Yes. Manikaran Sahib is only 4 km past Kasol and the same car can drop you there. Barshaini, the road head for Tosh and the Kheerganga trek, is further up a rougher road — tell us when you book and it is added to your quote.
Is the Kasol to Delhi taxi fare the same?
Yes. The same one-way fares apply from Kasol, Manikaran or Bhuntar (including Kullu airport) to anywhere in Delhi NCR, including IGI Airport. Plan an early start so the hill section is done in daylight.
Do you offer Delhi–Kasol–Manali round trips?
Yes. Round trips and tours are billed per kilometre driven (a sedan is ₹12/km with a 250 km daily minimum) plus ₹400 a night driver allowance, so a 5-day Delhi–Kasol–Manali–Delhi loop in one car often costs less than separate one-way drops.
Which car is best for Delhi to Kasol?
A sedan for 2–3 people with light bags; an Ertiga or Innova Crysta for families, 5–7 friends or lots of luggage; a Tempo Traveller for 8 or more people.
