Gobind Sagar lake: water that changes with the seasons
Bilaspur town lies on Gobind Sagar, the reservoir of the Bhakra dam. The lake is fullest after the monsoon (July–September); in winter and early summer the water drops and the old submerged temples of Bilaspur appear on the shore.
Water sports: the clear months, October to March, are best for boating and water sports — Gobind Sagar water sports.
Paragliding: flights from Bandla hill over the lake, especially in October–November and February–April — paragliding in Bilaspur.

Naina Devi and Baba Balak Nath: darshan weather
Shri Naina Devi ji stands on a high hill about 60 km from Bilaspur — a few degrees cooler and breezier than the town. Crowds peak at Navratri (Chaitra and Ashvin) — Naina Devi darshan guide and Navratri mela 2026.
Baba Balak Nath (Deotsidh) is in Hamirpur district (Hamirpur weather); the Chaitra fair in March–April draws big crowds — Baba Balak Nath guide.
In summer, go for darshan early in the morning or in the evening; in the monsoon, check for landslide news on the hill roads before you set out.
