Una (about 369 m) is the lowest and hottest district headquarters in Himachal, close to the Punjab border. India Meteorological Department averages for 1991–2020 make May the hottest month (about 38.4 °C by day) and January the coldest (about 19.7 °C by day and 3.1 °C at night — winter nights are colder than people expect). July–August bring the most rain (316–338 mm). Una does not get snow; October–November and February–March are the most pleasant months.
