Popular taxi trips from Jammu
Where our Jammu cabs go most, and what each trip is known for.

Good to know about taxis in Jammu
Vaishno Devi registration
Every pilgrim needs the free RFID yatra card from the Shrine Board’s registration counters in Katra (near the bus stand, and a second one on the Udhampur road). You must pass the Banganga check post within six hours of getting the card, so ask the driver to drop you at the counter and start the walk soon after.
Jammu airport to Katra
Flights land at Jammu’s Satwari airport, about 50 km from Katra. Share your flight number when you book: the driver tracks it and waits at arrivals, and you can be at your Katra hotel in about 1.5 hours. Katra also has its own railway station (SVDK) if you come by train.
Train or taxi to Srinagar
Since May 2026 a Vande Bharat runs from Jammu Tawi to Srinagar via Katra and Banihal in about 5 hours, six days a week (not Tuesdays). A taxi is still easier with family luggage, for a door-to-door drop, or when you want to stop at Patnitop on the way.
Patnitop in winter
Patnitop and Natha Top get snow in winter and the side roads can close for a while after a heavy fall. The main NH44 runs through the Chenani–Nashri tunnel below, so Srinagar drops are not affected; we confirm the Patnitop road the evening before.
Leaving J&K for Himachal or Punjab
Drops to Pathankot, Dalhousie, Dharamshala and Amritsar cross the Lakhanpur border. Tolls and any state entry fee are added to your quote at actuals; Himachal charges cars registered outside the state an entry fee at its barrier.
No night driving in the hills
For safety our drivers do not run hill sections late at night. Leave early (5–6 am from Delhi) and plan to reach before dark; the quote tells you the best start time.
