Good to know about taxis in Rishikesh
Ghats and bridges are on foot
Cars cannot reach Triveni Ghat’s steps, the Swarg Ashram side or Parmarth Niketan. The driver drops you at the nearest parking and waits; from there it is a short walk or an e-rickshaw. For the Parmarth or Triveni Ghat aarti at sunset, reach an hour early.
Rafting camp pickups
For a camp on the Badrinath road, send the location pin when you book — several camps share names and the turn-offs are easy to miss after dark. The driver can also wait while you raft the Shivpuri stretch and bring you back to town.
Uttarakhand green cess
Cars registered outside Uttarakhand pay a small green cess (₹80 for light vehicles since 15 February 2026), logged by cameras at the state border; CNG and electric cars are exempt. If it applies to your trip it is added at actuals, like the tolls.
Neelkanth in Sawan
During the Sawan month and the Kanwar Yatra (late July to early August) the Neelkanth road and the Haridwar highway fill with kanwariyas and police diversions. We move start times or routes around them — go very early or pick another day.
Char Dham from Rishikesh
Biometric yatra registration is compulsory for every pilgrim. In 2026 Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath are expected to close for winter around 10–11 November and Badrinath later in November, so book late-season trips early. Leave Rishikesh by 5–6 am; our drivers do not run mountain roads after dark. See our Char Dham yatra.
Monsoon caution
Mid-July to August brings landslides on hill highways. We watch road advisories and move your start time or route when needed — no extra charge for a route change we suggest.

Questions travellers ask
How much does a taxi in Rishikesh cost?
A full-day hire of up to 250 km starts at ₹3,000 in a sedan, ₹3,500 in an Ertiga and ₹4,750 in an Innova Crysta. One-way drops start around ₹3,099 to Delhi and ₹3,499 to Sonprayag in a sedan. Short airport, camp and Neelkanth runs are quoted on WhatsApp.
What is the Dehradun airport to Rishikesh taxi fare?
Jolly Grant airport is about 20 km from Rishikesh, 35–45 minutes by road. The fare depends on the drop point (Tapovan, the Ram Jhula side, AIIMS or a Shivpuri camp) and the car, so we quote it on WhatsApp. The driver tracks your flight and waits at arrivals.
What is the Rishikesh to Neelkanth taxi fare?
Neelkanth Mahadev is about 32 km by road, roughly an hour each way, so it is usually a half-day trip quoted on WhatsApp for your pickup point and car. Add Haridwar or Devprayag on the same day and the full-day rate of ₹3,000 in a sedan (up to 250 km) is better value.
What is the taxi fare from Rishikesh to Delhi?
One-way starts around ₹3,099 in a sedan, ₹3,899 in an Ertiga and ₹5,399 in an Innova Crysta for about 240 km (5–6 hours). Drops anywhere in Delhi NCR including IGI Airport; tolls are extra at actuals.
What is the Rishikesh to Kedarnath taxi fare?
Cars go as far as Sonprayag, about 210 km from Rishikesh via Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Guptkashi. A one-way drop starts around ₹3,499 in a sedan, ₹4,399 in an Ertiga and ₹6,099 in an Innova Crysta. From Sonprayag a shuttle runs to Gaurikund, where the trek begins; most families book the whole trip as a per-km round tour.
What is the Rishikesh to Badrinath taxi fare?
A one-way drop to Badrinath (about 295 km via Devprayag, Karnaprayag and Joshimath) starts around ₹4,899 in a sedan and ₹8,499 in an Innova Crysta. A Badrinath round trip is billed per kilometre with a 250 km daily minimum plus ₹400 a night driver allowance.
What is the Rishikesh to Chopta taxi fare?
Chopta is about 205 km (7–8 hours) via Rudraprayag and Ukhimath. A one-way drop starts around ₹3,399 in a sedan and ₹5,899 in an Innova Crysta. For a Tungnath–Chandrashila trip with one night and the drive back, the 2-day rate of ₹6,400 in a sedan (up to 500 km) usually works out better.
Is self-drive car rental available in Rishikesh?
No — every Suzu car comes with a driver who knows the Rishikesh lanes and the Garhwal mountain roads. You choose a hatchback, sedan, Ertiga, Kia Carens, Innova Crysta, Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania with driver.
