Good to know about taxis in Dehradun
Airport pickups at Jolly Grant
Share your flight number when you book. The driver tracks the flight and waits at arrivals; Jolly Grant sits between Dehradun and Rishikesh, so a direct airport-to-Rishikesh or airport-to-Mussoorie drop saves a trip into town.
Mussoorie at weekends
Saturday, Sunday and holiday traffic on the Mussoorie road and Mall Road can stand still for hours. Leave Dehradun before 9 am, or do Mussoorie on a weekday and keep the weekend for Rishikesh.
Uttarakhand green cess
Cars registered outside Uttarakhand pay a green cess, read by camera and taken from FASTag at entry points such as Asharodi and Kulhal (Uttarakhand-registered, CNG and electric vehicles are exempt). If it applies to your car, it is added at actuals.
Char Dham season
Dehradun is a common start for the Char Dham yatra. Biometric registration is compulsory for every pilgrim, and the 2026 temples close for winter around 10–13 November, so book late-season trips early. See our Char Dham yatra.
Daylight on hill roads
For safety our drivers avoid late-night hill driving. Mussoorie and Dhanaulti return runs finish before dark in winter; for Shimla or Chakrata start by 7 am.
Monsoon caution
Mid-July to August brings landslides on hill highways. We watch road advisories and move your start time or route when needed — no extra charge for a route change we suggest.
